How slatwall works
Slatwall panels mount to the wall framing and have horizontal grooves. Hooks, baskets, bins and shelves slide into the grooves and can be moved as your needs change, without new holes in the wall.
Common wall layouts
- Bike and scooter hooks near the door
- Yard tool and hose wall by the side exit
- Sports and ski wall for Tahoe households
- Tool and cord wall above a workbench
- Partial-height slatwall above base cabinets
Other wall options
Not every wall needs slatwall. Rail systems, pegboard and simple heavy-duty shelving can be the right answer on a budget or a short wall. We'll lay out the options during the consult.

Frequently asked questions
Is slatwall strong enough for bikes and ladders?
Slatwall is designed for hooks that hold bikes and ladders when it is fastened to framing and the accessories are rated for the load. We'll match hooks to what you hang.
Can slatwall go on an unfinished garage wall?
Yes, it can mount to exposed studs, and some homeowners use it in place of finishing that section of wall.
Can I add more hooks and baskets later?
Yes. That's the main advantage of slatwall, since accessories slide in and out of the grooves.
